According to the Billings Gazette, a semi-truck driver became trapped in the truck’s cab early Monday morning.  The driver was carrying a load of apples between Billings and Laurel.  The driver was stuck for several hours on River Road, a restricted roadway sometimes used by trucks.  Eventually, the driver was removed by a volunteer fire department.  He was later taken to a hospital in Billings.  News outlets have not reported on the cause of the crash.  The crash resulted in a down powerline, and a load of apples was left scattered on the road.

Any type of accident can be scary; however, an accident wherein a driver becomes trapped in their semi or vehicle can be dangerous.  We sincerely hope that the semi driver is okay and that he can make a speedy recovery.  Such situations can remind us to take the necessary precautions in case we ever have a similar misfortune.

A little prevention can go a long way when it comes to getting ready for driving.  For example, having an easily accessible emergency kit where you can access it from inside your vehicle is key.  A properly emergency kit should be stocked with anything you will need in case of an emergency.  Things like blankets, snacks, a portable charger, etc.  are all things that could be extremely helpful in a dangerous situation.  Although we do not know whether or not the victim of this accident was trapped in his seat or simply in the cab of his truck, having an emergency kit that is easily accessible is crucial.

At The Advocates Law, we want to help you make your driving safe.  However, accidents happen.  Accidents are an unfortunate reality of the world in which we live.  When you are involved in a troubling accident, meeting with a personal injury attorney can be helpful because they can help resolve some of the questions you might have.
